What's happening?
NSW Police have the power to immediately suspend a person's driver licence on the spot in certain circumstances, such as after an alleged serious speeding offence or certain other driving matters. This is different from a court-ordered disqualification, and it takes effect straight away, often before the underlying charge has even been dealt with by a court.
